At Weald Rise Primary School, we endeavour to give pupils lots of opportunities to share their thoughts and opinions and play an active role in the decisions that affect their learning and well-being.
Our School Council provides opportunities for pupils to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community. Pupils from Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 are elected by the children in their class after a short presentation explaining why they should be a School Councillor.
The School Council provides opportunities for pupils to communicate their feelings as well as influence decisions that are made by Senior Leaders.
Councillors develop skills such as confidence, communication and negotiation. It is the responsibility of each councillor to ensure that they express both their own views and the views of all the other pupils they represent.
